The fourth EastEnders GabFest, Winter GabFest '99, was held on a rainy Saturday afternoon, January 23, 1999 at 12:30 p.m. This time, the group met at Damon's on Tunnel Road in East Asheville, finding itself a permanent home. The availability of televisions and VCRs was a deciding factor: for the first time, we could all sit back, relax, and actually watch EastEnders together!

Those present at Winter GabFest '99 included Jennifer Allen, Bill Ammons, Ray and Donna Bodie, Judy Purdee, Glennie Sewell, and Vikki Whiston. Ray and Donna came to GabFest after seeing a "Calendar of Events" listing in the Asheville Citizen Times. Glennie was referred to our group by Dave Horne, President of the North Carolina EastEnders Fan Club. All were welcome additions!

As at other meetings, we "talked EastEnders" and shared a meal together. But this time, we had the pleasure of viewing a classic EastEnders episode, as well as "The Mitchells: Naked Truths" video. (We were all humming "Kung-Fu Fighting" as the gathering came to a close!)

Dessert consisted of a giant, gooey, messy chocolate chip cookie. (Were we all missing the usual bakery cake?)

Winter GabFest '99 lasted approximately three hours.
