Summer GabFest '99 commenced on Saturday, July 31, 1999 at 1 p.m. It was the sixth meeting of the WNC EastEnders Fans. We gathered at Damon's; and this time, we had the private room! Jennifer Allen, Bill Ammons, Ray and Donna Bodie, Dee Brennan, Jane Hewitt, Dave Horne, Anne Jones, Patti Lambert, Judy Purdee, and Vikki Whiston were all in attendance.

After greeting one another, we discussed dues and decided to collect $5 per member per meeting. (Excluding guests and first-time attendees.) We also asked Judy Purdee to become our Secretary. Jane Hewitt offered to share the job; and it was agreed.

Once "business" was done, we got down to the fun! We munched on onion rings and took the EastEnders Trivia Quiz. Donna Bodie was our winner, with thirteen correct answers. She received an assortment of English teas, and a Design House EastEnders sweatshirt.

After lunch, we viewed a portion of "Soap Secrets," enjoying the New York EastEnders Fan Club feature. (Ric-KAY!) We watched the "Naked Truths" video as well.

A bakery cake, featuring the river Thames and EastEnders logo, was presented for dessert.
