The second gathering of Western North Carolina EastEnders Fans took place on Sunday, June 28, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. Summer GabFest '98 was held at Hannah Flanagan's Pub in downtown Asheville. Those attending included Jennifer Allen, Bill Ammons, and Judy Purdee.

Much of the afternoon was spent perusing Walford Gazettes, British slang books, and the EastEnders Programme Guide. Also, Bill Ammons brought along several magazines featuring British programs to share with the group. Our English-born waitress joined in the fun, revealing her interest in EastEnders!

A bakery cake, featuring the river Thames and EastEnders logo, was provided for dessert. (There were only three of us; we could only eat so much cake; we invited our waitress to join us for dessert; and still, there was cake to be "doggie-bagged" home!)

Summer GabFest '98 lasted approximately two hours.
