Spring GabFest 2006

Fellow Gabfesters joined once again to discuss all things EastEnders related and to enjoy the accommodations provided by the wonderful Madison Inn in Black Mountain.  We had a total of 11 in attendance this meeting, which prompted the question that maybe the gas crunch has hit our group!  We will discuss this in more detail by separate email.

After discussing the recent travels to England of two couples in our group, we got down to the important business of ordering lunch <grin>.  While waiting for lunch, we had a contest to see who could come up with the most EastEnders Lexigrams based on the phrase "The Queen Victoria Public House."  The winner was Mel (Mr.) with 101 points!  His gift was a Queen Vic magnet and a large Aero mint bar.

After lunch, we took our group photo in Madison's side walkway in the brilliant  sunshine of Saturday afternoon.

Next, our hostess Sarah assisted in serving cake, and we began our pub quiz.  Our winner this meeting was Ben.  The prize was a commemorative coin from the 80th birthday celebration of Queen Elizabeth II.  Congratulations to Ben - an EastEnder himself!

We hope you'll consider joining us at our next meeting!
