New York City
EastEnders Luncheon
Hi Melissa and Jennifer,
First, it was so nice to get to meet you. Putting faces with screen
names is
always fun. How great that you decided to come up for our luncheon!
Hope you
made the most of your visit and that Melissa got to see many of
the hot spots
of NY and that Jennifer had fun playing tourist and tour guide.
Thanks SO MUCH for the great magnets - it was so nice of you to
bring them
for the group - the magnet looks great on the refrigerator - really
stands
out. What a nice idea to have them made up. If you two are any
indication, I
know that you have a really great group of EE fans in NC!
Hope the rest of your stay was fun and your flight back went OK
- now back
home to reality.
Til next time,
Irene
Thanks to all the EastEnders fans who came from
far and wide (and near) to
help make this luncheon a success.
So, see you all next time, perhaps we can have a
road trip to North Carolina?
I'd love that.....
Sherry in Brooklyn (which would be my 'name' if
I was on chats.....)
You and Jennifer are great!! You southern gals are
fun.
XXXXXXX,
Esta
Hi all,
Judy and Irene, I just want to let you know that I had the BEST
time on
Saturday at the luncheon. There was good food, and GREAT people!!
While I
couldn't stay for the Mad Libs (FINALS TIME), I was able to add
faces to all
the screen names I see in the newsletter. Larry's daughter was
gorgeous, it
was a hoot to meet Melissa and all the other fabulous people who
came from
the WNC Fanclub, and their autographe pics were the best! While
this was my
first EE luncheon it certainly will NOT be my last :-)
Hurry and plan another one!
Tatesha
Hi Jennifer and Melissa,
SOOOOO nice to have met you both. Thanks so much
for the music tapes; I
can't wait till I can sit and listen to them. Oh, the magnet is
gorgeous.
Jennifer, I will e mail you the Mad Libs story you
asked for within the next few days.
Again, GREAT to have met you both. Hope we can do
it again soon.
Love,
Esta
Hi Everyone. I echo Esta's comments. And thanks
so much for our WNC guests,
Jennifer and Melissa, who came all the way from way down there
to be with us.
That's sumtin!
The best to everyone.
Doris
A Note of Thanks
From Melissa
Hi guys!
We made it home with no delays and only a slight case
of the giggles from
exhaustion! (I think I would rather die than walk another city
block!!)
I want you all to know how wonderful it was to meet
everyone and finally get
to see all of your beautiful, smiling and welcoming faces at the
luncheon!
Judy, it was wonderful to meet you and have a chance
to chat. Only wish we
could have spent more time together.
Esta and Irene, you did a great job with the luncheon!
It was my first Mad
Libs and I was laughing so hard at one point that I was crying!
Dana, you were great too and thanks to everyone who
sent pics to us! We will
get ours developed and pass them your way in the next few days!
DORIS! My six degrees of separation from New York got
lessened to three when
I met you! Can't believe you have family in the same small town
my Mom lives
in here in NC! (And I haven't forgotten about your knitting patterns!)
Gayle, so happy to know that everything worked how
with your trip--how lucky
you were that you got your things back! I know you had a short
amount of
time there; but know you had to have enjoyed every second of it!
Larry, it was great to chat with you and Annie too
(what a sweetheart!) and
get to know you. Keep us posted on all future meetings and maybe
we can do
it again soon. You also need to let me know about our meeting
and whether or
not you think you can make the trip down. Hey, after all, I'm
the "Prez" so
we can change the date on ours if it will suit you better! Glad
you enjoyed
the autographs and feel free to let the powers at Elstree know
what a nutter
I am!!!!!!!
I hope that you all enjoyed meeting us as much as we
did all of you. And
remember--------evenryone in NY has an open invitation to come
to a WNC EE
Gabfest at any time!!!!!!!! Details are always posted at our website!
Take care everyone; and again, thankyou so much for
having us!

A Note of Thanks
From Jennifer
13 hours of sleep in four days,
folks.... That's the FUN that was New
York City!!!
What a joy it was to meet you
all.... For the last two years, I've
e-mailed back and forth with some of you and enjoyed reading the
newsletter postings of others.... And now I know your beautiful
faces....
Irene, you sure know how to throw
a party! Fiddlesticks was the perfect
place, and your GUEST LIST was impeccable!
Esta, the Mad Libs were a hoot!
You forced me beyond laughing and into
my snorting mode! (Let me apologize to those of you who were within
earshot of THAT!) Melissa was laughing so hard, she was crying!
Judy, it felt so good to be able
to thank you for your EastEnders
Newsletter in person.... You have done so much for me and the
WNCEE
Fanatics over the years.... There would not have BEEN a WNC fan
club
division without all of your hard work and good will. As far as
I'm
concerned, you ARE the US EastEnders Ambassador!
Larry, you're not nearly as cute
as Annie, but I really had fun teasing
you about your "lengthy" e-mails. --- I'm still waiting
to receive one
with a whole sentence in it! :-) Wish Terri and Jake had come
along.
(I'm not sure if Terri will remember me, but the two of us had
a
terrific telephone conversation last Summer. --- We Southern gals
CAN
go on!) Perhaps the four of you can visit the Mountains for one
of the
WNC GabFests?!
Tim, thank you SO MUCH for getting
Melissa and I to our destination in
the Village.... And for helping us LUG those two giant, obscenely
heavy
WNC EastEnders scrapbooks around town! You're smart. You're funny.
And you're a gentleman. (FYI: Melissa and I finally gave up and
just
DRAGGED those ridiculous things through Laguardia!)
Lizzie, I bow to you.... You
ARE the Shopping Queen. I didn't think it
was possible, but there's somebody out there who can out-shop
ME. Just
that alone makes me love you!
Dana, you're so much fun! We
didn't get to talk a whole lot; but when
we were remotely close to each other, it was one big GIGGLE-FEST!
(Did
you get the feeling that, had we been schoolmates together, we'd
be
living in a "Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows" world?!
--- I'm the
Haley Mills and you're the Susan St. James!) Thanks for the great
pictures!
Doris, you are an absolute love!
I so enjoyed talking with you on
Saturday. And, now that Mo and I know you have kin in North Carolina,
we EXPECT to see you at one of the WNCEEF meetings!
Gayle, Gayle, Gayle.... You are
just as crazy as Melissa and I. No!
More so! Our flight was only an hour and a half long! You came
all the
way from Texas for the EastEnders Luncheon; and you have my undying
respect and admiration. Keep those e-mails and postings coming!!!
To the rest of the gang at Fiddlesticks:
It truly was a privilege and a
pleasure to meet each of you. Thanks for making me feel so at
home.
Aren't EastEnders fans the best?! I took lots of pictures and
will be
posting them at wnceastenders.com by the end of the week. Please
visit
the site and leave a note on the Fanatics Forum; we'd love to
hear from
you.
Thank you, NYC EastEnders Fans,
for being such wonderful hosts! Ya'll,
let's have a do-over soon.

Hey,
Thanks for your thanks - so many specifics to so many of us.
Wish you guys lived closer; maybe one day I'll be in NC and will
give you a
shout. Hopefully y'all'll come back, y'hear?

From the Village
and Beyond

After the luncheon Melissa, Jennifer and I, along
with fellow luncheonnaire Lizzie Yacoubian, walked over to Niki
Perry's shop, CARRY ON TEA AND SYMPATHY, and enjoyed not one but
two star sightings there. The first was inside the shop when Ainsley
Harriott
(the chef from CAN'T COOK, WON'T COOK) walked in-it's a good thing
Jen and
Melissa had already made their purchases because the entire staff
headed in
the back to chat with him! The second was when we stood outside
the shop for
a moment and I noticed Scottish actor John Hannah (FOUR WEDDING
AND A
FUNERAL/HAMISH MACBETH/SLIDING DOORS) on our block headed across
the street.
I told the gals perhaps a bit too loudly who I'd just seen because
he
apparently heard me and turned around and I managed to yell out
"GOOD WORK!'
as in "you do good work." He beamed back at us-whether
he was just being
polite or actually grasped what I was saying we'll never know.
It was good
times, as the NPR radio talk show hosts on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's
"The
Delicious Dish" sketch say! Thanks again to you, Esta and
Irene.

Lizzie and Tim, Jennifer and I
all met in Little Italy yesterday for a meal and a stroll through
the
city together. The ONLY thing that could have possibly made it
better would
have been for all the EE'rs to have been there with us. (But Tim
and I had to
discuss our "nuptials" so we had to have a bit of quiet
time! LOL!)
Melissa
You make a LOVERLY couple! The photos were all so sweet.
Glad you had a
great weekend.
XXXXXXXXXXXX,
Esta
