The seventh meeting of the WNC EastEnders Fans took place on Saturday, October 16, 1999 at 1 p.m. Jennifer Allen, Donna Bodie, Dee Brennan, Dave Horne, Jane Hewitt, Patti Lambert, Judy Purdee, and Vikki Whiston met in the private room at Damon's in Asheville for Fall GabFest '99. We were pleased and excited to welcome three new guests from out of town: Linda Fineman, from the Raleigh area, and Alan and Melissa Munnell, visiting from Greensboro.

After introductions were made and dues were collected, we discussed the possibility of having "North Carolina EastEnders" clothing made. Members were receptive to the idea, and designs were passed among the group. Also, the latest WNC acquisition was shared: "EastEnders: The Inside Story," a hardback book purchased with a portion of dues money previously collected.

As we waited for our food, we took the EastEnders Trivia Quiz. This time, the questions were a bit tougher, and the competition even more fierce! Our winner was Judy Purdee; she was presented with a lovely EastEnders mug from Design House.

After enjoying lunch, the group opted to sit and talk about all things English. The EastEnders boardgame was on hand; but the conversation was so good, we never had the chance to play! A delicious bakery cake, featuring the river Thames and EastEnders logo, was provided for dessert.
