I am once again pleased to report that we had a great time in Asheville at the latest Gabfest! We missed those of you who weren't able to join us and hope to see you in January.

Kudos go to Dee Brennan, our new Pub Quizmaster Extraordinaire! She has volunteered to do the quizzes from now on; judging by everyone's reaction on Saturday, I'm sure you will all be very pleased to hear this great news. As for the Fall GabFest 2001 quiz, Martha "EE trivia queen" Covington took the coveted winner's spot once again. She received a tea towel (direct from the UK) and a brass tea tin for her efforts.

Lisa Ahlstedt was able to join us from Knoxville, Tennessee. She brought several EastEnders-related goodies with her, collected during recent visit to the UK. It was great to see her again.

Also present were Jane Hewitt, Judy Purdee, Jennifer Allen, Martha Covington and her husband Barry, Phyllis Metcalf, Betty and Debbie Elliott, Donna Bodie, Lisa, Dee and myself. We enjoyed a great meal, a classic episode of our favorite program, great conversation, and a delicious bakery cake featuring the club logo.
