It's that time again for the next EastEnders Meeting in Black Mountain on Saturday, April 19th from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. Since we have not had a meeting for three seasons, I hope everyone will find a way to attend our next gathering!
I will need your headcount by Thursday April 10th. Please respond, even if you don't plan to attend, by email to wncprez@aol.com.

Do you know of anyone who records Eastenders from the PBS station in North Carolina? I'm about to move away from Charlotte and looking for someone to tape the episodes for me.

Sad news today:
Actor Mike Reid has died today after suffering a massive heart attack. He will probably be best known for playing Frank Butcher in EastEnders.
Reid was also a stand up comic, also appearing in numerous films including Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrells. He was at his home in Spain when the heart attack occured.
Speaking on BBC News 24, friend and fellow comic Frank Carson said that the news was 'devestating' and that the whole showbiz scene would be shocked at the news.

Sad news WNC EastEnder Fanatics - we only had 11 positive responses to meeting attendance for July 28th. Because of this, I will have to cancel the Summer meeting.
Never fear though - the Fall meeting will be scheduled for October 20th, so you have three months to make your plans!
Again, we will need at least 15 for attendance, which means we need 20 responses. We have too many meetings where 15 have committed and 11 show up. Remember, fall is beautiful in the Carolina mountains and Madison's also provides accommodations for those traveling!
I hope to see everyone on October 20th, and have a wonderful summer!

What a wonderful afternoon! I met a really great group of fun fans. The Madison Inn is unique, the quizz difficult and the weather perfect!!!
I throughly enjoyed the afternoon, thank you for including me.

Time to get a headcount for the next WNC EastEnders Fanatics Meeting on January 20th, 2007.
Please respond with your count by Friday, January 12th, so I can advise Madison's!
Don't forget that we will finalize our RAFFLE drawings for the EastEnders Vintage Book, "Sonia's" shirt, and the Red Postal Box Teapot! If you weren't able to attend our last meeting, you will have a chance to buy tickets for these fun items at the meeting. I will also be including several EastEnders posters and photos for sale - all profits to benefit UNC-TV Festival 2007 on behalf of the WNC Fanatics.
I'm having trouble contacting Louie, so if anyone has his number, please forward this information to him. Thanks.

Greetings, NC EastEnders Fans!
Happy 2007, and I hope the new year finds all of you happy and well. I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that EastEnders night at UNC-TV's Festival will be Sunday, February 18. This will be our tenth anniversary volunteering at Festival and we think our best ever! More details to come...
I'll be sending another note soon requesting volunteers to staff the phones at our EE marathon night at Festival. Please consider joining your club mates for an evening of fun, food, and fellowship!

Andy - we are at the point where Lynn and Gary's marriage was to have taken place, Laura burned down the chippy in Ian's absence (shingles in New Zealand?), Lisa is in false labor (and stories to everyone) and Sharon and Phil and currently squeezing, but how long can it last!! Nice to see your note.

I'm from the UK and wondering just where you are up to in terms of the episodes showing?
I tell you, I'd kill (not literally of course) to see pre-2001 episodes again. Such greats we never see again over here :(
